When I was a child, I would get this odd sensation whenever I closed my eyes and concentrated hard enough while lying in bed. If I did this, my feet will balloon up, my fingers would shrink down, and my head would stomach would expand to the size of a giant hula hoop. This project is an on going question that asks how big things are in relation to us. In the city, size has connotations to stature and permanence. Big structures often dwarf us, modify our perception of ourselves, intimidate us, and give us a space in which to be. A photograph reminds us that we can recognize ourselves as both big and small at once; both the grand master and the speck of dust that blows through its own creation. There is an eerie solipsism in asking the above question, because there's no way to measure everything. But there is a way observe this sensation happening without having to close my eyes.
