Project Statement
The Moving Stories project bridges communities across Philadelphia by sharing collected stories from a mobile cart. Wherever we push the cart, it creates a new space where passersby can actively engage in questions and issues of community, belonging, migration, and identity. For the first iteration of this project, we had conversations with people from various diasporic and immigrant communities in Philly, printed a booklet with these conversations, and distributed them from the cart. We hope the cart can continue to evolve beyond a shared space into a library, archive, vessel, sculpture, and practical transportation tool.
